Chapter one: Trials and Exile

And now for Chapter one: Trials and Exile.

"QUIET IN THIS COURT!!!" The Judge screamed, silencing the crowd, and Asserting the authority that should well be. the Marbled hall echoed, and the room full of people, were silenced. From the Judge's chair he could see the handles of many weapons, of varying shape, recently allowed in all areas of town. The people refocused themselves on the man in black at the chair. "This court is not to decide the fate of the Di-Gor-Mon! We are here to rectify the Differences between the Law, and what the people want!" He glared out over the courtroom, looking into the faces of the people. Some hungry for the blood of their fair deputy, others cry because of the anger that was shown towards the man who a short six months ago, the people loved and cared about. There should not be this much anger, but alas there was. anger and resent for a man just doing his job, trying to get things done the way they should be. No one wanted to hear the reason of peace. The judge resumed speaking, "Now then, there Will be a fair vote in the coming days, to decide what the people want for a Di-Gor-Mon. and it will be a fair trial, done as it always is. There will be NO weapons allowed, even though the law does permit carrying of such devices, in plain daylight. Anyone who questions this ruling, will be asked to not participate in the vote, and placed in the jail for the entirety of the ceremony understood!?" The crowd murmured their replies of yes, and then Demeratu spoke from the back of the room.

"Your Honour! Permission to step into the litigation area?" The Judge nodded his approval and allowed him to step into the area reserved for lawyers and prosecutors, and addressed the people in attendance. "People of Setins! We have a unique opportunity here! This town is set in the old ways! You see that evidenced here! This deputy that is the law here is stagnant! he does things th-" "DEMERATU!" The Judge yelled from his post. Drawing the immediate attention of the Entire room, and even a small bit of fear from the manipulator of Setins. "I stated that this is not the place to discuss Gurnagh (Gur-gnaw) Maropoa! You have blatantly disregarded that statement! Did you think I would sit and let this happen! Your are dismissed from this proceeding. You may still participate in the Vote, you have been here long enough to participate, but you are no longer welcome in this courtroom until after The vote. now, get out." Demeratu Left but the poison that he spewed had already affected the townsfolk. Those who were still supporting Gurnagh, began swaying, was the town really stepped in its old ways? was it truly time for something new? The Judge sat and weighed all of these things, and Stared at the people he had been representing for so long. He knew Gurnagh's father. He did not want to think that demeratu was right. At that momment the Honorable Judge decided, that no one was going to sway him. The Di-Gor-Mon, was a good man, and this Demeratu was one who would distroy the order of things. No man.

Gurnagh was walking down the main avenue when a drunkard walked out of one of the new taverns that had sprung up since Demeratu came. that very building was on of the small shops that was owned by His dear friend, Morath. About a year ago he closed his little shop, and opned a new Tavern much to the dismay of Gurnagh and his supporters. He sold liqour from all over the planet that was very expensive, and for the most part very foul tasting at first. He even claimed that the had several off world varaities, but most were sure that was a lie. The drunk stumbled over to Gurnagh, and started hollering at him "Ahh, Look who it IS! the BIG BAD DI-GOR-MON TRYING TO TAKE OUR NEW TOYS AWAY! How dare you ya bastard! Can't you see that we need this stuff! Its progress! YOUR A FOOL OF A DEPUTY! AND YER DAMN FATHER WAS A BIGGER FOOL THAN YOU!!!"

ok... Random stop. GHave to figure out what Gurnagh is going to respond with. MOre in a bit!
